Future

The Folk Music Journal is set to enjoy a further century at the forefront of cultural studies. The Editorial Board is committed to a policy that is designed to promote interdisciplinary and comparative studies over a broad range of cultures and timespans. Whilst enabling dialogue and discussion among researchers, the aim is to make their work accessible to the widest possible audience.

The Journal is also embracing the World Wide Web without relinquishing its role as a printed journal of record. From Volume 9, Number 1 for 2006, the Journal's web site will carry multimedia items in support of articles carried in the printed issues. Specifically, it will carry audio, video, colour photographs, and any additional textual and visual material which cannot be accommodated within the printed version.
